I’ve been on kind of a kick, when it comes to mammal drawings lately. I went ahead and paid the euro fifty or whatever it was to get some high-resolution scans of these drawings, so I could (theoretically) someday plug them into illustrator and do something or other with them. Like add color! Or whatever.
This week’s drawing is of a golden bandicoot, which is an endangered ground-dwelling marsupial. They have very long noses, in real life, and I’m not sure I succeeded in capturing that aspect of the creature. I tried (and failed) multiple times to get it looking exactly right, but in the end I feel pretty happy with this outcome. At least, happy enough.
So far, it looks like the next one is going to be Loxodonta africana, also known as the African Elephant.
